Check an address with Noisy Data Centers
Find the address you’re considering. The map and result will help you see what’s nearby.
Step 1
Find your address
- Type the street number and name, then the city and state or ZIP.
- Choose the full address from the suggestions. You can use the arrow keys and Enter too.
- Check the street number, city and ZIP before continuing. If they are wrong, choose another suggestion or edit the address.
A precise address match may show results right away. Otherwise, check the house marker before continuing. If no suggestion fits, enter the full address and select Check address. Checking the same address again keeps your result. To move the location, use Check the house marker beside the address.
Step 2
Check the house marker
If a confirmation map appears, make sure the pink house is on the right building. Drag it there if needed, then select Confirm location and check noise.
If the address is not found
- Find the city and street on the map. The starting view may cover a wider area and has not found your house.
- Zoom in until you can identify the building, then click or tap it to place the pink house.
- Drag the marker into place if needed, then select Check this location.
A moved marker checks the point you chose. The typed street address is still unverified.
To change a completed result, use Check the house marker beside the checked address.
Optional: enter coordinates
If you know the building’s latitude and longitude, open Advanced: enter coordinates, fill in both values and select Place pin. Check the marker before checking the location.
Step 3
Read your result
Read the answer first, then look at the map and nearby locations.
- Red
- Recent, unresolved noise complaints nearby.
- Amber
- Possible noise, past or unconfirmed concerns, or planned changes.
- Green
- No reported concerns found in the sources checked.
- Gray
- The check could not finish, or a relevant location is unresolved.
Green does not guarantee quiet.
Match the locations to the map
- The pink house marks your address or the point you chose.
- Facility marker colors show whether a site is operating, being built or converted, or planned. These colors describe its operating status, not its noise.
- Hollow markers have not had an independent location check. Pins with known location conflicts are withheld.
- Use Show on map beside a location to find that facility.
Distances run straight to facility map points and are approximate. A campus edge or its equipment may be closer. Same address means the address matches a facility record.
The main answer checks concerns within two miles, or at a matching facility address. The map and full list cover ten miles. A farther facility may have complaints even when the answer for your address is green.
Step 4
Explore the evidence
- Full list opens the detailed nearby-facility list. Use the filter to show operating, building/converting or planned sites.
- See details contains reports, source links, dates, location notes and equipment information.
- Older complaints stay visible, with notes when a facility has stopped or changed operations.
Some facilities and complaints may be missing. The colors do not tell you how loud a home is or whether it is safe for your health. Read the sources and methods for review limits, or see how your address is used.
